New Leader Assimilation

Stepping into a leadership role, whether through internal promotion or external hiring, does not automatically guarantee seamless teamwork. Building a cohesive and high-performing team is a gradual process that requires time and effort. While Bruce Tuckman’s Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing model serves as a fundamental framework for team development, it typically takes between 6 to 18 months for a team to organically reach its full potential. At Chart House Solutions LLC, we have developed a pioneering New Leader Assimilation process that accelerates this journey through a focused 1-day workshop. This assimilation is strategically implemented after the leader has been in their position for a minimum of 3 months, but no longer than 6 months. Our seasoned facilitators collaborate closely with the leader to craft a customized set of questions that address the leader’s specific needs and curiosities about their team. By fostering an environment of psychological safety, we facilitate an open dialogue around these questions, laying the groundwork for trust and understanding between the leader and their direct reports. This targeted approach sets the stage for enhanced collaboration, productivity, and success as the team navigates the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.  If you are a new leader and want to start your leadership journey on the right path, let’s have a conversation!
